The great irony of the “no stake in the future” nonsense is, my childless wife and I, and most all our childless friends, are deeply concerned about climate change, while most of these MAGA idiots with lots of kids are doing everything they can to make the planet uninhabitable for their kids and grandchildren. I would love to not give a shit about the future, but sadly, I love this planet and want to see it survive.
I just finished listening to your conversations on Rachel Dratch's fun podcast, "Woo-Woo." Boy, did your story haunted house story bring back memories I hadn't dredge up in years! I ,too, am a child of the 70's, (b. 1971, specifically) and 80s. Attended Catholic school, check. Left alone too often. Check. In my case it was left alone with cousins who had very early access access to VHS movies like, oh, Poltergeist. I was nine when I saw this and it RUINED my sleep for years afterward. When you spoke of not sleeping for years, I so related to it. Catholic school didn't help either with teachers who actively conveyed demons were real and waiting for me should I act in an incorrect manner. Thank you for sharing! That's not snark.
